The most important thing to remember when you’re hosting an intimate party is to know the kind of food your guests would want, the kind of music they prefer, and how to select the right mix of guests so they can easily mingle with one another. Mood is everything. The reason for the term “throwing a party” is you have to be ready for last minute surprises such as uninvited people shows up, food runs out, etc. But for some, that is the fun part. Here’s where improvisation comes in: the show must go on, and when all else fails, there’s nothing but a good laugh to keep the merriment going.

The biggest secret to a successful party is to always have overflowing drinks. People get more relaxed and friendlier when under the influence of alcohol. For huge parties with more than a hundred guests, an important ingredient is to invite a sprinkle of handsome single men and vivacious women. Fact is, everyone wants to be in the company of beautiful people. Everyone wants to flirt or run after the sexiest man or woman in the crowd. Alcohol and pretty faces makes everyone forget their problems and guilt.
Important Guidelines in a Party
Don’t forget to RSVP- For intimate get-togethers, you can bring a small gift such as a wine or dessert will be most appreciated.
- For cocktail parties, being 45 minutes late is okay, but beyond that it’s quite impolite unless you want to make a “celebrity” entrance.
- Always say your goodbye’s to the host. Even better is if you can extend the same courtesy to some guests you spoke to that evening.
- Never leave a party totally wasted or worse, toting with around someone else.
